The city of Adapazari is a capital of Sakarya province in northwestern Turkey.
It lies on the main highway between Istanbul (140 km west) and Ankara (300 km southeast).
In 1939 two brothers, Besim and Sevki Kolunsag set up the enterprise Sik Makas Konfeksiyon.
They sewed garments of sheepskin.
In 1964 they went from Adapazari to Istanbul.
The enterprise was acquired by three sons of Sevki: Haluk, Faruk and Omer Kolunsag.
They continued making sheepskin cloaks, coats and jackets.
Since 1970 they were branding products with CROSS.
In 1984 jeanswear became trendy in Turkey.
The Company started manufacturing denim jeans. At first for Turkish market.
In 1988 Poles had been given passports. They were coming to Istanbul to buy clothing.
They were buying jeanswear, paying cash in dollars.
The enterprise Sik Makas began making garments especially for customers from
Eastern Europe.
Since 1991 the Company has been exporting apparel to Poland under the label
CROSS Jeanswear.
The clothing is manufactured in company-owned facilities in Istanbul and Corlu.
The raw materials are denim-like fabrics, the weight of which ranges from 9 to 13 oz.

In 1995 the subsidiary, Cross Jeanswear GmbH was established in Berlin.
It serves as a distribution center for German market.
